Dr. Patrick MacGillivray
Dr. Patrick MacGillivray completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Science degrees before obtaining his Medical Doctorate (MD) in 2007 (Ottawa). He then completed his Family Medicine (2009) and Sports & Exercise medicine fellowship training (2010) at the University of Ottawa, and obtained his Diploma (CASEM) and designation (CFPC).
He practiced family and emergency medicine early in his career before focussing on Sport and Exercise medicine and partaking in extensive additional training in ultrasound guided musculoskeletal procedures. This procedural experience led to his interest in varicose vein assessment and sclerotherapy treatment, and he subsequently received comprehensive training in the field from Dr. Lucie Beaupré and Dr. Jason Leclair as well as travelling to the US for additional training in venous & lymphatic medicine.
He is a member of the Canadian Society of Phlebology (CSP) and the American Vein & Lymphatic Society (AVLS). He is passionate about the assessment and treatment of veins and loves to go the extra mile to ensure his patients receive exceptional and safe evidence-based care.
