Large varicose veins can also be treated by injection; the injection is monitored on the screen of the ultrasound device.

Experts in the field of Phlebology generally recognize that varicose veins should be treated starting from the deepest and moving toward the most superficial, and that larger veins should be treated before the smaller ones.
