Ultrasound-guided foam injection

Treatment of large varicose veins

Large varicose veins can also be treated by injection; the injection is monitored on the screen of the ultrasound device.

ULTRASOUND SCLEROTHERAPY: LARGE VARICOSE VEINS TREATMENT

Experts in the field of Phlebology generally recognize that varicose veins should be treated starting from the deepest and moving toward the most superficial, and that larger veins should be treated before the smaller ones. Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy is effective in treating even the most dilated varicose veins.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy is an Endovenous Chemical Ablation (E.C.A.) that sticks the vein walls together.

Ultrasound-guided foam injections are mainly required when the long and short saphenous veins, their tributaries (offshoots), and perforator veins are not working properly (large varicose veins).

RARE CASES OF VARICOSE VEIN SURGERY

Nowadays, only about 5 per cent of patients with large varicose veins require surgery (“stripping”) or endovenous laser surgery.

LARGE VARICOSE VEINS INJECTIONS: A SAFE AND EFFICIENT METHOD

Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy eliminates the point of reflux in large varicose veins. The sclerosing agent, or more recently the sclerosing foam, injected at a specific location causes the varicose vein to close.

For more than 20 years, the treatment of varicose veins by Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy or Endovenous Chemical Ablation (ECA) has provided excellent results when administered properly and with the latest equipment. It is a safe procedure that rarely causes serious complications.

Ultrasound-guided large varicose veins injections are administered at the clinic and the patient can immediately return home or back to work.
