Vein Treatments
Do you think you might have varicose vein problems? Pain, burning sensation in the legs, numbness, heaviness and fatigue are all symptoms to look out for. To determine whether your varicose veins need to be treated, a proper diagnosis must be issued by a professional. Medicart clinics offer innovative treatments for varicose veins. Our cutting-edge approach ensures precise and effective care for all our patients.
Make an appointmentSclerotherapy: A varicose vein treatment without surgery
Medium-sized and spider veins are the most common type of veins encountered. A simple saline solution is usually all that is required to treat most mid-size varicose and spider veins. This mild solution induces a mild inflammatory reaction, and the mid-size or spider veins disappear.
Learn moreUltrasound-guided Sclerotherapy: a treatment for large varicose veins
Experts in the field of Phlebology generally recognize that varicose veins should be treated starting from the deepest and moving toward the most superficial, and that larger veins should be treated before the smaller ones. Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy is effective in treating even the most dilated varicose veins.
Learn moreVenaSealMD Procedure: Minimally invasive nonthermal treatment
The VenaSealMD procedure delivers a small amount of a specially formulated medical adhesive to seal or close the diseased vein, rerouting blood to nearby healthy veins and providing symptom relief. By utilizing medical glue to close off the problematic vein, the VenaSealMD procedure ensures a safe and effective treatment for patients. This innovative approach not only provides a minimally invasive alternative to traditional treatments but also offers rapid recovery times and impressive results.
Learn moreCompression socks: preventing veins and reducing symptoms
Graduated compression socks aim to reduce pressure in the superficial venous system. These stockings exert greater pressure at the ankle than at the thigh, thus “pushing” the blood back upward in venous system. This helps slow the development of varicose and spider veins, and relieves symptoms such as fatigue, heaviness and inflammation. However, the stockings should not be used as a replacement for treatment. Compression socks are key during sclerotherapy and Ultrasound-Guided sclerotherapy, as they improve the treatment and prevent blood clots.

Hyaluronic Acid (Dermal fillers)
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, found in human tissues, that gives the skin its volume and healthy appearance. One of its main functions is to carry water and retain it in the cells. In cosmetic dermatology, hyaluronic acid is used as an implant and comes in the form of a gel whose concentration and density may vary. The gel is injected into the tissue to eliminate fine lines, to fill in deep lines (folds), to increase the volume of the lips and to shape the face’s contours, particularly the chin and cheekbones.
Learn moreNeuromodulator (Botox)
Constant use of forehead and eyebrow muscles can cause the development of deep vertical lines between the eyes (glabella) and horizontal frowning lines on the forehead. These lines can lead to a serious, stressed or anxious facial expression, while increasing the signs of aging. Furthermore, frequent use of the muscles around the eyes while smiling can result in the formation of crow’s feet. These wrinkles can be smoothed out or even eliminated with neuromodulator injections.
Learn morePlatelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
What is PRP? It consists of pure plasma-rich platelets with concentrated platelets and an optimal cellular content. Platelets are associated with several growth factors, which promote tissue reconstruction by stimulating the production of new collagen, resulting in smoother and healthier-looking skin. PRP improves the following conditions: alopecia, hair loss, wrinkles, acne scars, sunspots, hyperpigmentation, texture and complexion.

Learn moreVbeam Laser
The Vbeam Pulsed Dye Laser is a technology used in dermatology to treat various skin issues. The Vbeam® Laser effectively targets redness, rosacea, ruby spots, and spider angiomas, ensuring safe treatment. Additionally, it is utilized for addressing stretch marks and scars, showcasing its versatility in dermatological procedures.
Learn morePeelings
Rediscover the radiant beauty of your skin with peeling. Facial peeling exfoliates the skin, promotes cellular regeneration, and stimulates collagen and elastin production. It densifies the skin, restoring it to a revitalized texture. Its goal is to eliminate dead cells to enhance skin quality.
Learn moreExosomes
Our exosome treatment is specifically formulated to provide you with a radiant and even complexion. By reducing age-related pigments, it erases dark spots while enhancing the firmness and youthfulness of your skin. Wrinkles and fine lines are visibly diminished, while the skin is intensely hydrated.

FAQ
Here are a series of frequently asked questions, and their specific answers. Please contact us if your question remains unanswered.
Varicose and sclerotherapy
1. Is varicose vein treatment covered by OHIP in Ontario?
For Ontario residents, vein treatment consultations and follow-ups at Medicart Ottawa: Vein & Aesthetic Clinic are covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan), with further details available directly from the clinic.
2. What are the causes of varicosities?
Heredity is number one. Obesity, old age, working in an upright position and pregnancy are predisposing factors for varicose and spider veins.
3. Which varicose veins can be treated by injections?
All of them. Large dilated varicose veins are treated by Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy also called Endovenous Chemical Ablation (E.C.A.) Small spider veins are treated by simple saline solution injections : Sclerotherapy. Only about 5% of severe cases of large varicose veins will need surgery (stripping) or laser endovenous treatment (E.V.L.T.).
4. How many sessions are required?
Some patients need two or three sessions only, others need fifteen or more; but the average is six to eight sessions to obtain good results. Each session lasts about 15 minutes.
5. When are the results obvious?
Pain in the legs as well as general appearance of legs improve after three or four sessions. Properly treated varicose veins disappear for good but the hereditary tendency to produce them remains.
6. Continuing treatment?
Because of the hereditary and ongoing nature of varicose vein formation, an annual checkup is recommended. New varicose veins can then be treated. This ensures good control of the disease and beautiful legs forever.
