The Medicart Ottawa team is the most experienced in the Ottawa Valley, both in Gatineau and Ottawa. Our clinic has 9 physicians, 10 nurses trained in phlebology and sclerotherapy, a nurse practitioner and an attentive administrative staff that will meet your needs.

Medical Direction                                                    

Dr. Jason Leclair is the medical director of the clinic. He is supported by the founder and renowned Dr. Lucie Beaupré.

Our medical management ensures the quality of treatments. It also ensures that the clinic’s state-of-the-art equipment is kept up to date, and that the safety and well-being of our clientele is maintained, in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Dr. Jason Leclair

Dr. Jason Leclair received his medical degree in 2008 and completed his Family Medicine training in 2010 at the University of Ottawa. He was trained by Dr. Lucie Beaupré and has been practicing phlebology with her since 2011. Dr. Leclair is trained in ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy and conducts research on evidence-based practice in sclerotherapy. When he is not at the phlebology clinic, he has a health care practice in Ottawa and practices Hospital Medicine at the Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Leclair is the Director of Family Medicine Education at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus and is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Lucie Beaupré

A specialist renowned by her peers, Dr. Lucie Beaupré is the founder of the clinic and remains a benchmark in phlebology. In the clinic, Dr. Beaupré acts as both mentor and attending physician in addition to acting as a consultant for the entire Medicart network. Dr. Lisa White

Dr. Lisa White received her undergraduate degree in Physiology in 1987 and her MD in 1991 from McGill University, receiving several academic awards.  She then continued her Family Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa which she completed in 1993 and has been actively working as a family physician in Ottawa ever since. She became interested in varicose veins in 1997 and trained at Dr. Beaupré’s clinic. In May 2015, Dr. White was awarded the title of General Practitioner Specializing in the Treatment of Varicose Veins by the Ontario Medical Association and the Ontario Ministry of Health. She is one of the few physicians in Ontario to hold this title. She is pleased to provide services in both English and French.

Dr. Andrew Mutter

Prior to earning his title as a Sclerotherapy Focused Practice Therapist in Ontario, Dr. Andrew Mutter completed undergraduate, master’s and medical degrees at McGill University and a Family Medicine degree at the University of Ottawa. While in Montreal, Dr. Mutter was actively involved in clinical research on the relationship between physical stressors and cardiovascular health, with over 300 citations in the literature to date. His interest and aptitude for procedural work eventually led him to work in the field of sclerotherapy, where he currently performs patient evaluations and treatments for a wide range of venous diseases at Medicart Vein Clinic. He is pleased to provide services in both English and French.

Dr. Rachael Adams

Dr. Rachael Adams completed her medical studies at Queen’s University in 2008, followed by a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is proud to have been trained in sclerotherapy by Dr. Lucie Beaupré in 2018. Being able to treat patients’ veins and significantly improve their symptoms is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work. She also has a family practice and two young daughters.

Dr. Simon Vickery

Dr. Simon Vickery graduated from Dalhousie University in 2015 and continued his family medicine training at the University of Ottawa in 2018.  He joined Medicart Vein Clinic in 2020. He also has a family practice in Kanata, where he often works with medical students to develop their skills and introduce them to Family Medicine.
